Music That Resonates (MTR) is devoted to supporting music through awareness by facilitating music discovery and helping music creators and audiences from around the world stay informed on issues at the intersection of music, technology, policy and law. Music matters and MTR strives to let you hear, read and see why.
How does MTR help people discover new music?
Song of the Day
Monday through Friday, MTR posts a Song of the Day to MTR, Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook. Those who are interested are also invited to subscribe to the RSS feed to receive a notification about each SOTD as they are posted. At the end of each month, all of the SOTD’s from the month will be available as a Cloudcast on Mixcloud to stream.
Artist of the Month
At the beginning of each month, MTR will select one artist to feature on its homepage. The content of each feature will vary according to the will of the artist – whether it be an exclusive stream of an upcoming single or album, a free download, tour promotion, Q & A, etc.
Live Sessions
MTR occasionally produces live sessions with artists that are either based in Toronto or in Toronto on tour. Live sessions typically include an interview and feature live performances of three songs. You can check out our existing live sessions here.
Interviews
When the opportunity presents itself, MTR will sit down and chat with an artist / band / composer and capture an audio or video recording of the discussion. We feel that the stories behind the music are just as important as the music itself, so this is our way of connecting music creators with their audiences, and vice versa. We may also feature interviews with music executives, tech start-ups, and policy makers to add perspective to the evolving climate of the music industry.
Newsletter
MTR has launched a monthly newsletter through MailChimp. You can subscribe to the newsletter here. Monthly newsletters will feature a recap of the month’s top blog posts, SOTDs, live sessions, interviews, the artist of the month, and featured content from our promotional partnership with labels and artists.
